About Us
Indefinite-Alliance is a guild that was established pre-release of the MMORPG – Star Wars: The Old Republic, by BioWare and LucasArts. The guild was set up pre-launch with the intention of creating a community that already feel comfortable around each other from day 1.
As a guild our initial focus is on social activities. This is for players who have busy lives and may not have the time to spend on any end-game content. The guild does run Operations twice a week and members who wish to join operations must put in the effort required to be at a ready standard. You can read more details on this @ the End Game page.
If you are looking for a social and friendly guild that you can progress in, with no fear of being penalized for having real-life priorities, Indefinite Alliance is for you. Please visit our recruitment page for more information on how to join the guild.
The Meaning of Indefinite-Alliance
We always wanted to break the mold, be unique in the way we grab attention from our viewers. One of the flaws I saw in the recruitment boards on the old republic’s website, was guilds using the exact same format. We did not want to become another variation of over used Star Wars terminology such as light, dark, Jedi, Sith and force.
Indefinite is a name that always drew some attention as it was the name of our PvP guild in World of Warcraft (also founded by Lumiaya and Aetheus).
Indefinite Alliance represents the collaboration between different classes, utilizing their different skills for a common goal.
“In dark times we rally the like-minded to our cause, and although the outcome is indefinite; we will win, or we will die trying.” – Guild Motto
Alliance History
Indefinite-Alliance used to be ‘Indefinite’, a player versus player guild in World of Warcraft. We set up the guild due to the poor quality of PvP guilds on our server, we wanted more. We set-up around February 2008 and did not start ‘pre-made’ groups until June. The reason we waited so long was to ensure we had all the right tools such as a voice server, website and forum.
Below I have copied some information from our old website defining our goals and who we were.
The guild was formed by 5 in-game friends, who were all connected through different arena teams. Each player felt that their time with PvE Warcraft at a semi-hardcore level had worn out – this led to the decision to create a PvP Guild that would hopefully leave a mark on Silvermoon – EU as being a fair representation of the average PvPer.
The creators of Indefinite have always felt that PvP guilds on Silvermoon have always required either too much or too little of its players – we strive to have fair requirements for those skilled players. This is our aim.
Goals:
* To create a large enough member base so that players can make pre-mades freely and regularly during the week.
* Badge and fun runs to Karazhan aim to be held at least once a week.
* For our officers to be fair and approachable with any complaints or questions that members may have.
When the next expansion came out, (Wrath of the Lich King) We had to make considerable adjustments to the guild to ensure we would still be running. We worked for a few months, altering the ranking system in the guild and making some members officers to diversify the guild.
Our goal was to turn Indefinite PvP into Indefinite PvP/vE. We wanted to have two sides to the guild to keep our members and make us a successful guild in both aspects of the game. We were already experienced in the field of battle, most of the officers also used to have good standing in raiding guilds.
Due to issues with some members not wanting to lead and defecting to already well established raiding guilds. This also took a high cut out of the rest of the members, many following them to an easier life. In January 2009 we made this statement:
January 2009 Note:
Due to circumstances beyond my own control I have been unable to keep the guild running. Indefinite, as of now are disbanding and will only survive as place for alternate characters who wish to stay in the guild. Wrath of the Lich King has proven to be a difficult time for the guild as many members decided they would like to move towards a full PvE style of play until they have fully explored that side.
Myself and the other officers have done all in our power to try and keep the guild going by making us into a PvP – PvE mixture. However, due to a recent mass guild quit from members wanting to move to full time PvE guilds it would be more difficult for myself and the other officers to continue running the guild.
I Hope that all members find somewhere new and interesting to carry on enjoying the game and i will make sure we do as well, hopefully sometime in the future Indefinite can reform to reach our former glory but that outlook is currently bleak.
My apologies to anyone who was interested in joining the guild around this time, good luck, have fun.

We ended our service in Indefinite with these statistics:

Eye of the Storm – 114 Wins – 1 Loses
Alterac Valley – 5 Wins – 0 Loses
Overall Status: 300 Wins – 5 Loses
Versus Premades 40 Wins – 5 Loses
After spending a great deal of time free from any guild – myself and Amy decided to join a PvE guild. We chose to move to PvE due to how we felt about PvP in Wrath of the Lich King, with many issues such as resilience scaling getting wildly out of control and Death Knight’s ability to death grip vehicles, we knew we had enough.
This led us to Purgatory-EU on the Silvermoon server. The guild was very welcoming to us from the start and we managed to make a great impression and were promoted to full members within a week of joining. We are still a part of that guild (12/07/2010) while we await the release of The Old Republic.
The Birth Of Indefinite-Alliance
Myself and Amy have followed the Old Republic since it was announced in October 2008, a year later we realised we missed running a guild and slowly building a strong community over time. Since the game still still far away from a release date in October 2009 we knew we had a great chance to have a fully functional, well known and established guild by the time the game was released.
By the 19th of October 2009 we had our first version of the website fully function with a forum ready for members. Sadly, since the game has not been released I can’t say much else about Indefinite-Alliance in the past tense without just quoting passages from the forum and the website!
Please view our other pages for more information on the guild!
